CSS-22 Caseless Shotgun

Description

This is the CSS-22 semi-auto Caseless Shotgun made for the EDF by Mobius Arms. It fires "14 gauge" Metal Storm slugs from one of four tubes on a rotating mag sealed in the back of the weapon. Each tube has 4 rounds in it.

Okay, for anyone who doesn't know how a metal storm round works let me explain. There are 4 caseless rounds "stacked" in a tube. An electric igniter behind the last round sends a current to each slug, starting at the front, lighting the powder and sending the round on its way. What metal storm systems offer is a weapon with very little moving, i.e. "breakable", parts. The weapon also has little recoil and can achieve a high rate of fire.

Now back to the weapon itself... As I said before, the EDF ordered the CSS-22 from Mobius to up-arm their Spec-ops and Black-ops teams. What they asked for was a semi-auto shotgun that left no trace, and was small and durable. Mobius took this and decided to build the CSS-22 with a rotating, or hexagonal mag. To address the "leave no trace part" they had to look at the round. What they used was the Metal Storm caseless system.

The CSS-22 can fire in semi-auto of 4 burst mode. It can fire 2 types pf rounds at the moment. The first is the slug, a solid piece of metal used for its accuracy, penetration and stopping power. The second round is called the shrapnel round and was made to replace the shot round... It's basically a shotgun slug that bursts in mid air into 10 separate, precut spikes that can either be sharp or blunt depending on how much penetration you require...

Made in PMG.
